Adapted Sports Day (Spring 2026)
The Adapted Sports Day is a collaboration between NC Adapted Sports, Made4Me, Catalyst Sports - Raleigh, Recreate Yourself, YMCA of the Triangle Area, and the Town of Garner Police Dept.
We are bringing several adapted sports and resources to one location for people with a disability and their family/caregivers.
Participation in adapted sports activities will require a registration and signing a waiver at the event.
Adapted Kayaking requires registration to participate.
All sports, you can reserved time slot or freely explore (General Admission)

Beat the heat and join us for an afternoon of inclusive fun for the whole family! This indoor event brings everyone together to play adapted and accessible games such as boccia, corn hole, giant Jenga, ring toss, and more, perfect for all ages and ability levels. Led by a Licensed Recreational Therapist from Recreate Yourself, LLC, families will enjoy friendly competition, teamwork, and laughter in a supportive and welcoming environment. Cost is per family.
Brain Power Bistro: Workshop
Discover the joy of cooking in a supportive, accessible environment at this free trial workshop designed for adults (18+) with neurological challenges. In this small-group, hands-on session (limited to 10 participants), you'll learn practical strategies for cooking with confidence and ease.
Together, we’ll prepare flatbread pizzas, a fresh salad, and a delicious dessert—all while building skills to support independence and confidence in the kitchen.
*Caregivers encouraged to accompany students if needed. **Upon registration, please email laura@recreateyourselfllc.com with any dietary restrictions. We will do our best to accommodate, but we cannot guarantee that all food will meet your needs.

SPIRIT of Inclusion Expo
Wake Forest Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources is offering the 2026 SPIRIT of Inclusion Expo on Saturday, March 21, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Joyner Park Community Center, 701 Harris Road.
Free and open to everyone, the Spirit of Inclusion Expo is a one-day event dedicated towards connecting individuals with disabilities and their families with valuable resources and services. Our expo aims to provide information, support, and opportunities to enhance the quality of life for attendees.
This event will feature a diverse range of vendors, organizations, and experts dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities.

Minority & Women-Owned Business Expo
The Wake Forest Human Relations Council (HRC) will host the 2026 Minority & Women-Owned Business Expo Saturday, Feb. 28, from 1-4 p.m. at the Wake Forest Renaissance Centre, 405 S. Brooks St.
The event is free and open to everyone.

Join us for an exciting Boccia Workshop, where fun meets strategy! Boccia (pronounced bot-cha) is a precision ball sport (played in a gym), similar to bocce, designed to be inclusive and accessible for individuals of all abilities, including those with physical disabilities. This workshop will introduce participants to the fundamentals of the game, focusing on coordination, teamwork, and friendly competition.

A transformative 4-week therapeutic workshop that explores the calming, restorative power of gardening. This hands-on experience invites participants to reconnect with nature, themselves, and others through meaningful horticulture-based activities. Each session is crafted to support emotional wellbeing and foster social connection of people of all abilities. Participants will get their hands in the soil, design and care for their own therapeutic planter, and explore mindfulness through the rich sensory experience of gardening—touch, scent, sound, and creativity all play a role. Therapeutic Neuro Expressions (4-week series)-Wake Forest
"Therapeutic Neuro Expression" is a holistic program designed for individuals with neurological disorders (TBI, Stroke, etc) to explore and express themselves through art, journaling, and other creative outlets.
